An analysisofthecommutationprocessisperformed,illustratingthebasetheorybehindan LCC. TheanalysisfollowswiththestaticcharacteristiccurvesoftheLCC-HVDCtransmission system,tounderstandthesystemoperationinsteady-state.Furthermore,asmall-signalmodel of thetransmissionsystemisdeveloped,includingtheACsystemattherecti erandinverter terminals.
