| Sumario: | Actually, data traffic has exponentially increased in wireless networks. In order to develop the next generation cellular communication systems, the interest in millimetre wave (mmWave) communications has been growing, due to the huge bandwidth availability that can provide large data rates. Although, mmWave signals experience severe propagation loss compared with current cellular bands. Thanks to the small wavelength of mmWave, it is feasible to pack a large number of antennas in the same physical dimension that can provide simultaneous transmissions of data streams increasing the spectral efficiency. Fully digital technique requires a dedicated radio frequency chain for each antenna. These are not possible as a result of the hardware cost and power consumption. In order to avoid having a similarly large number of digital to analogue converters and radio frequency chains, hybrid precoding schemes have been considered a promising technology. In this project is studied some of the already proposed mmWave MIMO hybrid precoders and their performance. Finally, after the study of the different precoders is done, a new scheme is proposed and analyzed. |
