| Sumario: | Travertine deposits associated with the Alicún de las Torres hidrothermal springs (S Spain) show two types of architecture basad on their morphology: travertine platforms and travertine canals. The travertine platforms were datad by means of Useries disequilibrium. The time ranges for each platform are: from 144,000 ± 5238 to 7 75,437 ±675 y.B.P. for the upper; from 87,798 ±3421 to 48,681 ±1627y.B.P. for the lower, and from 32,605 ±809 to 32,300 ±679 y.B.P. (or the middle platform. On the other hand, two ancient travertine canals are dated by means of AM S -Radiocarbon providing ages from 3660 ±40 yr B.P. and 2660 ±60 yr B.P. respectively. The travertine age bearings with the isotopic curve is discussed |
