Sumario:Determination of failure strains is a topic of great interest for the design of composite structures. To evaluate the ultimate strains of a composite, tensile tests have been carried out on specimens with a range of fiber orientations between 0° and 90°. Ultimate tensile strengths obtained present low or moderate dispersion, the average values constituting a good estimation of the failure stress. Values of failure strains obtained present high dispersion for almost all orientations, so it is proposed to take as failure strain threshold the minimum value for each orientation. Finally, the shear behavior of the material has been evaluated.
