Descripción
Sumario:Fades analysis carried out in the Higueruelas Fm. (Tithonian, latest Jurassic) in the northern Iberian Chain (Mezalocha, Aguilon and Fuendetodos outcrops), has resulted in the identification of 14 fades. These fades were deposited in a shallow carbonate ramp. Mid ramp environments are represented by open platform, outer shoals and protected lagoon fades. Inner shoals and restricted lagoon fades are found in inner ramp environments. The Higueruelas Fm. corresponds to a single second-order sequence. Three third order sequences formed by a variable number of higher-order sequences are found. The equivalence between the number of sequences defined in the three studied outcrops suggests an allocyclic control
