The only characteristic that undeniably unites the Franja in Aragon is the fact of speaking Catalan, a language that, in this area, shares the features that distinguish the sub-dialect spoken in the north-west of Catalonia. However, there is no linguistic homogeneity from the north to the south of this area and there is a diatopic variation within it that extends towards Catalan and Valencian lands.
