Descripción
Sumario:In this article, we present a proposal of classroom activities for Secondary Education (12- 16 years old) from COVID-19, based on a theoretical framework on statistical and data literacy. In the first part, we describe the mathematical and didactic knowledge that must be mobilized by the mathematics teachers of this educational stage to promote statistical and data literacy from everyday contexts and of social interest, together with tools such as technological manipulation to handle large databases. In the second part, four classroom experiences contextualized in COVID-19 are presented to develop students’ statistical and data literacy. It is concluded that statistical and data literacy, together with probabilistic literacy, allow to develop a critical view against manipulated data, fake news, etc., and to make informed decisions
