Descrição
Resumo:This dataset contains two files associated with the article Head form variation in mountain newts of the genus Calotriton (Amphibia, Salamandridae) in a phylogeographic context. The Excel file includes the landmark coordinates used for geometric morphometric analyses, centroid size (CS), logarithm of centroid size (LCS), snout–vent length (SVL), and specimen metadata, including sex, species, and sampling locality for each individual in the dataset. The TXT file defines the pairs of symmetric landmarks used during shape analyses. The dataset provides the raw morphometric data necessary to reproduce the analyses presented in the article and facilitates future comparative studies on morphological variation, sexual dimorphism, allometry, and interspecific differences within the genus Calotriton. Coordinates were obtained from homologous anatomical landmarks digitized on head images of mountain newts. This dataset contains two files. The excel file contains the landmarks coordinates, the centroid size (CS), the logarithm of the centroid size (LCS), the snout-vent length (SVL), and the classifiers (sex, species, and site) of each individual of the sample. The txt file defines the pairs of symmetric landmarks.
