Descripción
Sumario:[EN] The use of some growth promoting substances on chestnut marcotting has been studied. Some of them showed to be beneficial; favourables effects appearing within less than one or two months after hormones have been applied and a 1OO% rooting may be induced. Roots formed were of a fibrous type quite favourables for a vigorous growth of the new chesnuts obtained. 3 mg/g. 2,4-dichlorophenoxy-n-butiric-acid, l mg/g. 3-indolylbutiric acid plus 0,3 mg/g. 2,4.dichlorophenoxy thriethanolamine or dimethylamine of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid or 12 mg/g. 3-indolylbutiric acid showed to be the most effective treatments when applied on young growing shoots during late May or early June. For the treatments, applications were made under a lanoline paste. A small amount of it was smeared around the shoot, to a depth of 3-4 cms. and it was then covered with Sphagnum mosse. A soil layer was put on. But no further special care was taken. For 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid no higher concentration than 0,13 mg/g. is recomended to be used on treatment for marcotting chestnut.
