Summary:Age calculation algorithms for D/L ratios of four amino acids (alanine, aspartic acid, phenylalanine and glutamic acid) analysed in the continental ostracode species Herpetocypris reptans (Baird) were determined for southern and central Iberian Peninsula, where they are abundant, using the Mitterer and Kriausakul (1989) 's mathematical approach. Using these algorithms, several beds will be able to be dated and, therefore, the Pleistocene paleoenvironmental events of different areas of Spain will be placed in a chronostratigraphical scale
