Descripción
Sumario:William Shakespeare is an extremely important writer in the life and literary career of Josep Palau i Fabre. Palau discovered him when he was thirteen or fourteen, and Shakespeare was the reason he decided on a literary career. After that, Shakespeare was with him throughout different periods of his life. The Elizabethan playwright aroused Palau's interest in tragedy and was his first stimulus to write literary texts. In addition, Palau's poetry and essays contain references to Shakespeare's plays, some of which became the seeds of his own theatrical pieces. Palau never stopped reading Shakespeare's works, which were always an incentive for him to write.
