Descripción
Sumario:A regressive succesion ot deltaic, shoreface, and continental strata characterized the deposition during the Campanian-Maatrichtian time in the foreland basin of the south-central Pyrenees. This work introduces a high-resolution stratigraphic framework among these strata along the different structural sectors of the eastern part of the basin. The framework is based on the reocgnition and section. These horizons, named after their most characterisitc species, have been correlated with planctonic foraminifera biozones following a shelf-to-basin stratigraphic cross-section. We conclude that these rudist horizons are valid as biostratigraphic markers.
