| Sumario: | [EN] The paper studies the flash-flood that took place on September the 1st, 2021 in Les Cases d'Alcanar (Tarragona). Its meteorological and hydrological characteristics make it one of the most remarkable on the Western Mediterranean coast. A post-event reconstruction was carried out, which involved the determination of the peak flow using the 2D IBER hydraulic model and the hydrological response of the basin applying the HEC-HMS lumped model software. After a rain depth of 251.9 mm in 3 hours, the peak flow reached 159 m3·s-1 in the town and the runoff volume was 1.15 hm3. The runoff coefficient was 0.76. A large part of the overflow in the urban area was due to the occlusion of the transversal drainages structures. The reconstructed data will be of great value for the planning of structures in small basins that generally lack data from gage stations. |
