Sumario:This paper aims to describe conceptual change with regard to the corpuscular nature of mattter during the development and accumulation of experience. Five levels of explicative schemes have been found, whose construction implie a progressive liberalization of macroscopic features seen in the transformation system. Examples of the different answers in each level are proposed, as well as the most usual changes between levels experimented by the students before and after explaining to them «what do scientist think» about the nature of matter. Finally, conclusions are reached for research on the conceptual change.
