Sumario:This paper offers an examination of the presence/absence of vio­­lence in Latin texts on military technique, medicine, veterinary and law. Through the stu­dy of the use of Latin terminology expressing the idea of violence, name­ly uis and uiolentia, or the idea of brutality, that is saeuitia, crudelitas and ferocia, the paper aims to assess the relevance and the attention paid to this kind of pheno­me­non in the Roman technical texts.
