| Sumario: | Any process of transitional justice requires a break with the evils of the past. According to Arendt the solution of human action to achieve reversibility is forgiveness. However the notion of forgiveness she gives in The Human Condition changes in a significant way. Forgiveness has a complex relationship with the problem of evil she calls «radical» and afterwards «banal». The importance of the changes in the way she defines evil and its relationship with forgiveness has never been sufficiently outlined. This is precisely the purpose of this paper that shows its evolution and outlines the limits of the Arendtian thought in relation with forgiveness. |
