Resumo:Throughout the central books of Metaphysics, Aristotle investigates the four senses of the term being: accidentally, in itself, as true and false, as potency and act. After arguing that the first sense of being is to be substance, Aristotle argues that the substance, in the strict sense, should be understood as a form, not as a matter or compound.; Metafisikaren erdiko liburuetan zehar, Aristotelesek izan terminoaren lau zentzuak –alegia, akzidentalki, berez, egiazko eta faltsu gisa, eta potentzian eta egintzan– ikertzen ditu. Izatearen zentzu horien artean zentzu lehena substantziari dagokiola argudiatu ondoren, Aristotelesek argudiatzen du substantzia, zentzu estuan, forma gisa ulertu behar dela, eta ez materia edo konposatu gisa.
