Sumario:The philosophy of signs and interpretation developed by the German philosopher Günter Abel is one of the most comprehensive approaches in contemporary thought. During the last decades, Abel has contributed innovative propositions to the current debates on numerous key issues in theoretical as well as practical philosophy. This article outlines Abel’s position, delineates its development and its main references, discusses the key concept of interpretation as well as the pivotal model of interpretation levels, and works out general features of the approach.
