Description
Summary:This paper focuses on the artists in the New Kingdom, especially on their role in the diff usion of motifs within the artistic repertoire. The analysis and discussion of a range of textual, artistic and archaeological sources dating to the New Kingdom will be the basis to explore the mobility of artists. The movement of craftsmen could be best exemplifi ed in the transfer that took place before and after the Amarna Period, and the presence of certain details attested on paintings and reliefs of private tombs from diff erent areas may let us track those ‘travelling artists’ in Egypt.
