In Menippus or necromancy Lucian tells the particular katábasis that the cynic Menippus undertakes to discover the true wisdom and to know the best kind of human life. However, the narration takes place on the earth, so the philosopher, without dying, becomes an authentic apparition to the still alive men by the message that he announces and that he brings with him from the world of the dead. The aim of this paper is to analyze some formal resources and topics that Lucian uses to achieve his goal by parody; and it is simply to exalt the common sense and the convenience of humour as universal pattern of behaviour for an authentic life.[spa] A través de la alteridad que representa la muerte y el inframundo, Luciano vehicula a menudo la crítica contra la sociedad contemporánea, el poder, la cultura, la religión, los vicios y hábitos humanos más arraigados. Luciano es un autor experto en el desarrollo de marcos narrativos complejos e innovadores en los que el contenido de sus obras siempre adquiere una renovada atención. En Menipo o la nigromancia Luciano narra la particular katábasis que el cínico Menipo emprende para descubrir la verdadera sabiduría y conocer el mejor género de vida humana. Sin embargo, la narración de ese descenso tiene lugar en la tierra, por lo que el filósofo, sin haber muerto, se convierte en una aparición para los hombres aún vivos por el mensaje que anuncia y trae consigo desde el inframundo.
