| Summary: | [EN] With his Philosophy of Symbolic FormsCassirer reflects on an ImmanentInfinity that had already been announced by Kantian Thought. Kantian texts can be read symbolically, as happens for instance with his Theory of the Postulates relating to a Divine Existence and an Immortal Soul. The Faktumof Reason, the Human Freedom that we canacknowledge thanks to our Moral Conscience, allows us to go beyond any limit under the conviction that we can do what our Duty dictates autonomously. We are a Symbolic Animalwhose Ethical and Cultural Universe allows us to transform reality by Asymptotically pursuing renewed Utopian Horizons. As Cassirer well says in Towards a Metaphysics of Symbolic Forms, it is the Symbolic Future of the Human Being that transcends the Limits of his Finite Existence. That is the reason why Kant culminates all ofhis work with a Metaphysics of Morals. |
