Sumario:(English) This thesis addresses the development and evaluation of novel tools and strategies for Environmental Management Systems (EMS) implementation in ports for water quality. Integrating computer vision-based systems with meteorological and hydrodynamic operational models, the research aims to provide efficient and tailored tools for pollution monitoring and management. Three case studies are presented, exploring the feasibility of using meteo-oceanographic operational services as SAMOA, in conjunction with Monte Carlo experiments, for environmental risk analysis; developing robust computer vision systems for spill and waste monitoring; and assessing computer vision systems reliability under different operating conditions. The findings demonstrate the potential of meteo-oceanographic operational services and computer vision for marine pollution monitoring tasks and highlight the significance of progressive implementation in port EMS, leveraging early data collection and adopting an adaptive approach. The research supports sustainable and environmentally conscious practices in port management to protect coastal waters and marine ecosystems.
