Descripción
Sumario:The article discusses a series of wheat prices drawn up by the administrators of the Empordà estates of the Counts of Peralada, and asks for the authorship and its motivations. It is argued that these are reference prices used for the collection of unpaid censuses in kind and therefore close to producer prices. A comparison with otheavailablseries, referring to the markets of Girona, Barcelona and Figueres, shows that the long-term trends of the other series are similar, but with less intense fluctuations and with a differential which was higher until 1640 and clearly lower from 1680 on wards
