Sumario:[EN] The objective of this work is to analyze alternatives Master process and selection of the most appropriate for an expansion of the sewage treatment plant sewage Alzira-Carcaixent , located near the river Jucar. Given the steady increase in population and the incorporation of new collectors that flow into the treatment plant, has evaluated the need for expansion. Furthermore, according to the Water Framework Directive and whereas there are ditches downstream of the point of discharge waters leading to the National Park of the Albufera of Valencia, listed as a sensitive area, we have studied the removal of nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus so that it meets the requirements for discharge under current policy. In the various proposed alternatives were used as the plant evolves towards changes of operating parameters such as cell retention time, dissolved oxygen concentration and sludge recirculation. Besides comparing several current bioreactor configurations in order to optimize its performance. Finally it has proposed the installation of a membrane bio-reactor installed on one of the existing clarifiers and to compare the advantages and disadvantages with other settings, so that you can identify the most economically feasible solution to reduce costs production are compromising the quality of the effluent During the analysis of alternatives, it has resorted to the modeling of biological and chemical processes involved in wastewater treatment. This tool allows you to predict and optimize the design, characterization and determination of the stoichiometric parameters of water involved in these models still needed. To perform the necessary simulations in this work, we have used the application DESASS (DEsign and Simulation of Activated Sludge Systems) which is a simulator treatment plants configured under Windows, designed and optimized for the investigation of processes of wastewater treatment, evaluation of existing treatment systems, with particular emphasis on the speed of calculation, graphical presentation and easy handling
