| Sumario: | [EN]: The text entitled «Some Memories of Julián Miranda Alcántara (1955-1959)», which was written by Martín Laviana Antuña in February of 1991, is reproduced below. It is a document that constitutes in itself a tribute to the fellowship and friendship between two young miners, and it represents at the same time a valuable testimony of the characteristics of the work in the Spanish mining of the 1950s, as well as of the social relations and daily life in Almadén (Ciudad Real) and Garlitos (Badajoz) in those years. It includes the first-hand account of the rescue of the three miners who died in the accident happened in Garlitos on May 4, in 1959. |
