| Sumario: | This article attempts to make an approach to Makoki’s phenomenon and to explain the importance of this character to the Spanish underground culture. Through an historical perspective, it is shown the evolution of both the Spanish comic book industry as well as the changes in the taste of readers. Both Makoki’s character and publication allow us to see the evolution from the underground culture born in response to social and moral restrictions of a totalitarian regime, to the concept of “alternative comic” in the nineties. |
