Resumo:This article analyses, a key contemporary academic concept from the perspective of geog-raphy: the Anthropocene. Starting with a brief introduction to its origin and a general framing, we proceed to analyze some of the main dimensions linked to the Anthropocene: the biodiversity crisis, energy transition, and education and research. A specific point is also devoted to the Anthropocene in the Mediterranean, considered to be one of the regions with the most severe impacts and some of the clearest manifestations of this new geologi-cal era. It is a real priority laboratory for knowledge and action, especially considering our geographical and historical context
