Sumario:[EN] This article analyses the role played by privateer companies in the Caribbean Sea in the 18th century. Through the actions of their companies, we can appreciate the articulation of regional Caribbean trade in a scenario of imperial struggles and conflicts for the control of American trade. We analyze Spanish corsair actions after the decline of the Commercial Monopoly following the signing of the Treaty of Utrecht.
