Sumario:Most islands in the European Union rely heavily on fossil fuels for electricity genera on. Years ago, the European Commissioner created the Clean Energy for UE islands Secretariat, with the aim of developing projects focused on the evolu on of islands towards cleaner and selfsustainable energy genera on. The Transi on Agenda is the strategic roadmap for each island to follow in order to complete the process of transi on to clean energy. The secretariat's current objec ve is to provide technical support to 30 islands or groups of islands over three years, to help them reach the ambi ous goal of achieving complete energy independence based on 100% renewable sources by 2030. The Energy Security transi on LAB of the Politecnico di Torino is working together with the European Commission to provide technical support to the selected islands. Among them is the island of Pantelleria, a small Italian island located in the south of Sicily, which is the island used as a case study. The technical support being worked on consists of the crea on of a risk-free environment pla orm, which the islands will be able to use as a tool to evaluate different possible scenarios that could occur in the future, in their transi on towards energy independence. The objec ve of this thesis is to define the physical, environmental and economic indicators with which the pla orm will work, always focused on the genera on, distribu on and supply of electricity. This project also aims to show how the expressions of these indicators will vary depending on the type of ac on that the users of the pla orm perform on the island's electricity grid, resul ng in mul ple scenarios. In order to achieve the objec ves, to show the procedures in a clear way and to be able to exemplify some parts of the work, the previously men oned island of Pantelleria has been used as a case study island.
