| Resumo: | This article tries from the relationship between the mass media, in a special way television media, and violence agains women. We start from a theoretical point of view wich parts from an "ideological regressive function" of the media to female and male gender roles. Because media operates "systematically" with a "superrepresentation of male protagonism" and a "underrepresentation of female protagonism", the mass-media are producing a "symbolic violence agains women". In this context we present a few first empirical research results abaout the news in the Television in Spain. |
