| Sumario: | [EN] The geographical area that currently defines the region of Camp de Turia is a territory inhabited since antiquity that counts on an extraordinary cultural heritage. Its particular landscape, modeled over the centuries to make the most of available resources, has its own elements and values, many of which are disappearing as a result of social changes and modes of production. Among the different components of the anthropic landscape, rural architectures stand out, appearing in response to certain needs generated by an important agricultural production. These traditional constructions are unequivocally related to their environment, facilitating their reading and understanding, as well as being testimonies of past ways of life. The masía, understanding it as a house that is established preferably in dry land along the Mediterranean coast, from the north of Catalonia to the province of Alicante, is perhaps the maximum exponent of these architectures. They originate as self-sufficient units that manage and exploit a particular territory. The region in question has some magnificent examples that, despite being so damaged in some cases, are perceived with an important meaning inherited and apprehended individually. This research aims, in the first place, to locate them in its current geographical environment and in the sociocultural and productive environment of its time. The approach is twofold, on the one hand, the unique architecture of these sets and on the other, how they are landscape creators. The exhaustive study of a group of masías, previously selected, has allowed to improve the detailed knowledge of these rural architectures that relate to the environment. Also, on a smaller scale, it has been possible to establish conclusions that contribute to its value and highlight its contribution to the formation of the cultural landscape of Camp de Turia.
