Sumario:[EN] Context: Design Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) from the Business Process Models Notation (BPMN) is not a trivial process, since there is a wide variety of alternatives to represent the same primitive BPMN in the GUI. Objective: One of the contributions is the elaboration of recommendations to select the graphical alternatives from BPMN primitives that optimize usability. Other contribution is the conduction of a family of experiments to analyze the preferences of the subjects in the design of GUIs from BPMN models and check whether such preferences agree with our recommendations. Method: Usability recommendations were extracted from previous proposals. Regarding the family of experiments, it consists in 2 replications of 43 and 47 subjects where we study Attractiveness (percentage of subjects who prefer each GUI design alternative) and Correctness (percentage of subjects whose preference agrees with the usability recommendation that we propose). Results: Attractiveness shows that 10 design alternatives (out of 14) of GUIs exceeded 50% of the votes of the subjects. Correctness shows that 8 design alternatives (out of 14) agree with our recommended alternatives. Conclusions: The alternatives with the best Attractiveness and Correctness are report, datagrid, combobox, timer, hyperlink, textbox, check box and buttons.
