Descripción
Sumario:The Baroque´s writer María de Zayas reflects in her narrative and dramatic work the defense of a revaluation of the female figure. Above all, she claims for a change in the conception of the female sex and its role in society. In this way, she demands that women have the right to education and freedom to choose their way of life according to their wishes and needs. Therefore, María de Zayas should be considered a key author in the genealogy of spanish writers that began with the mystical writer Teresa de Cartagena and created a speech that would connect with subsequent feminist proposals.
