Firstly, the institutional framework of the Girona silversmiths has been studied to establish not only the organizational frame of the corporation (brotherhood of trades, guild and school), but also the devotional and social character of the trade, with saint Eloi as patron. Secondly, the research has focused on the identification of the members of the corporation, the silversmiths, and the clarification of their personal and professional trajectories. The final result we offer is the construction of a historical discourse around the artistic and social reality of baroque silverware in GironaEl present treball, realitzat a partir de documentació inèdita com ara el Llibre del Collegi de Argenters de Gerona sots invocasio del Glorios St. Aloy, y St. Anastasi de la Biblioteca de Catalunya, se centra en l’estudi de l’art de l’argenteria d’època moderna a la ciutat de Girona; emmarcant-se en l’organització institucional de l’ofici i la seva dimensió devota, juntament amb la identificació dels seus artífexs i llurs trajectòries. En primer lloc, s’ha estudiat el marc institucional dels argenters gironins per tal d’establir no només l’estructura organitzativa de la corporació (confraria d’oficis, gremi i col·legi), sinó també el caràcter devocional i social de l’ofici, amb sant Eloi com a patró. I, en segon lloc, la recerca s’ha enfocat en la identificació dels membres de la corporació, els argenters, i l’aclariment de les seves trajectòries personals i professionals.
