| Sumario: | This book constitutes the proceedings of the PHEFRA International Workshop (Palaeofloods, Historical Floods and Climatic Variability: Applications in Flood Risk Assessment). The Workshop was held in Barcelona, on the 16-19th of October, 2002, at the Instituto de Ciencias del Mar (CSIC). The principal sponsor of the Workshop was the European Commission, through contract no. EVG1-CT-2002-60001. Additional funding was provided by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Technology (Grant no. REN2001-4607-E/RIES), the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC).
