Descripción
Sumario:In light of the specific contribution John Paul II’s teaching to a more refined understanding of marital consent, the purpose of this paper is to determine, as precisely as possible, the minimum threshold of psychological capacity required of the will (intention, decision and choice) in assuming the commitments and obligations of marriage, so as to establish whether or not a given individual in a particular case lacks such capacity because (s)he does not meet the minimum threshold. The psychopathologies that may undermine each of the psychological characteristics comprising the capacity to assume obligations, thus causing incapacity as such, are outlined.
