| Sumario: | [EN] This article study the definition of Spanish travel literature in the Sixteenth Century. It compares three important cases. On the one hand, that of Cristopher Columbus, navigator and hero. Secondly, the case of Hernan Cortes, hero and conqueror, and then Lope de Aguirre, the antihero. It concludes that by 1560 the posibilities of a travel literature linked to discoveries had been surpassed by urban and creole narratives. |
