Sumario:[EN] The formation of the contemporary Brazil is narrowly linked to the migratory phenomenon in a process of continuities and breaks. In the middle of the 20th century the country had 51.944.000 original inhabitants of four continents, forming the multiethnic composition of the current Brazilian society.
