| Sumario: | If this thesis had to be defined just by using just few terms, one of them wouldsurely be entrepreneurship. Many contributions coming from different disciplineshave shown to what extent entrepreneurial initiatives are an important source ofeconomic development. Such initiatives can have many forms and come from manysources, and an important vehicle through which such initiatives have an effect inthe economy is the entry of new economic business ventures. In this respect, severalstreams of the literature have focused on the characteristics, determinants andeffects of such entries. This is the general framework of this work, which focuseson two fundamental and relevant questions: (a) the territorial determinants of neweconomic ventures' location and (b) the effects of such entries in terms of dynamicfactor demand. Although such questions can be analysed separately, they belongto the same economic phenomenon, that is, the causes and consequences of neweconomic ventures, and the results obtained in each analysis can be interpreted in abroader and more general context. |
