Sumario:The generation costs of each different electrical production resource (thermal with coal, with gas, with oil, with nuclear, and hydro-power) are essential data for the planning of power systems with a mixed-type generation units' set. However, generation costs are often computed in a quite simplified form, though subject to severe error. In this work the rigorous methodology of cost assigment to the different resources, based on the probabilistic production model, for the general case of integrated (hydro-thermal) system, is outlined, and then a method for analysing the possible influence on cost and on conventional resources use, of generation with renewable energy sources (wind, solar power, etc.) is put forward for either, the case of this generation supplying a former electrical load, or for electrical generation directly connected to the electric power grid.
