However, these recommendations are based on low-quality evidence and overlook hyperoncotic albumin. Preclinical data confirm that hypotonicity-not albumin-drives ICP elevation. Emerging data suggest that hyperoncotic albumin (20-25%) may reduce ICP and improve outcomes.
