Sumario:The article, which summarizes the author's doctoral thesis and its historiographical coordinates, explains the strategies of landowners to exclude others from uses and advantages such as hunting, grazing and collecting firewood. Citing the two studied sources, it presents the results for the county and a geographical projection for the Catalonia of masos (farms), especially in the northeast, as the most significant area in the practice of closing lands. Annexes provide properties subject to prohibition and the leaders of agrarian individualism in the Alt Empordà county
