Descripción
Sumario:[eng] On the breeding of the Sardinian warbler Sylvia melanocephala in the centre of Mallorca. The results are presented of a breeding study in a small 3.5 hectare patch of woodland surrounded by non-irrigated crop lands in the centre of Mallorca during the springs of 2004 and 2005. The minimum number of territories during the two years was 7, with some pairs having two clutches (May and June). These figures imply a very high density, equating to 20 pairs per 10 ha, which may be the norm for the entire island. The high density may be related to the subdued territorial behaviour observed in the males.
