Sumario:[EN] The article aims the analysis of the urban transformations in the so-called Madrid Cornice from its naming as a capital onwards. The strong symbolism communicated through the time as iconic façade of the city has recently vanished with the last interventions in its surroundings. Nevertheless, the section of the river valley underneath has been somehow revitalised. Whether the traditional representations of the Cornice were flat and static; movement and a three-dimension dynamic reading outstand in the new understanding of the space.
