| Sumario: | [EN]The dissemination of Natural History collections is one of the tools with which botanical gardens have contributed to knowledge about plant diversity. Taking as an example the Real Jardín Botánico of Madrid, this article examines the historical evolution of the RJB as well as the relationship between the garden, its collections and their social context. The article concludes with an analysis of the situation of the RJB and its collections today and role they play in the use of new technology to disseminate information about plant diversity. |
