Sumario:The olivine diabases and teschenites that intruded into the Triassic sediments from the Serra de Tramuntana of Mallorca, belong, at least, to two different undersaturated alkaline series. The most undersaturated series evolves from K-rich basanitic magmas up to phonotephritic. These magmas are similar to those of some series found in continental rift environments. The less undersaturated series comes from less alkaline magmas and does not show differentiated terms. The trace element and REE composition suggest low degrees of melting of modified mantle peridotites, in equilibrium with garnet. The two series are equally distributed along the mountain range in different tectonic units
