| Sumario: | [eng] First confirmed breeding record of Greater Flamingo Phoenicopterus roseus in the Balearics. After several breeding attempts observed in recent years at Salobrar de Campos and the Salines d’Eivissa salt flats, the birth of two Greater Flamingo chicks Phoenicopterus roseus is confirmed for the first time in the Balearics at the Albufera de Mallorca. We believe that this reproduction data is related to the ecological change taking place at this natural area, with water salinization modifying its landscape and biodiversity in a very noticeable way. |
