Sumario:The publication of several translations of the Commentariolum petitionis by Quintus Tullius Cicero since the end of the 20th century has aroused the interest of journalists, politicians and even of so‐called campaign strategists. It is widely believed that the epistle, addressed to Marcus Tullius Cicero as he ran for the consulate, has not lost any of its validity. This paper analizes the different approaches to the epistle adopted by some articles published in the Spanish press.
