Descripción
Sumario:The ALBA storage ring is equipped with a Fast Orbit Feedback (FOFB) system used to reach the submicron stability of the electron beam by compensating for small perturbations. Nonetheless, using obsolete hardware with limited performance pushes for a system upgrade since its design. To overcome this, the AFC2310 electronics (from IOxOS Technologies SA) based on the FPGA Virtex-6T was already selected and purchased in 2014 and is currently under integration. The work presented in this project is focused on the hardware communication between the IOxOS electronics and the corrector?s power converters. This communication comprises the physical layer for converting electrical to optical signals needed to match the power supply interface and the logical layer for controlling the transmitted and received packages from the power supply.
