Descripción
Sumario:The project aims to analyze the environmental and social impact of the clothing sector and propose strategies for a greener supply chain. By evaluating carbon emissions, tactile waste, and water usage, the study assesses current supply chain processes of various clothing brands, identifying opportunities for improvement. Key findings include the potential of implementing 'worn wear' models like Patagonia's to encourage garment repair and reuse, the significance of upcycling in minimizing waste, and the importance of innovative design patterns to enhance product durability. The project emphasizes the collective responsibility of stakeholders, including consumers and companies, to transition towards a more sustainable fashion industry, preserving resources and fostering conscious consumption. In conclusion, the urgency of sustainability in the clothing industry cannot be understated, given the rising environmental and social concerns related to fast fashion. Embracing sustainability offers an opportunity to transform the industry's supply chain, addressing resource depletion, excessive waste, and exploitative labor practices. By integrating the proposed strategies into everyday practices, the clothing industry can move towards a more responsible and eco-conscious future. However, this transformation necessitates a collaborative effort from all stakeholders, making informed choices and embracing sustainable practices. A solid education and awareness are pivotal in achieving a more sustainable supply chain and creating a positive impact on the environment and society
